Amalfi Drive Residence Design by BGD Architects. This river front design is situated with an older established residential island that’s going through redevelopment. Thoroughly created by the architect for his youthful active family, the residence reflects their dynamic outside lifestyle. With easy accessibility river, the home draws for the southern waterfront and turns from the street.
This Drive Residence Design was a way for the architect to experiment and have fun with fresh ideas. Striving to take advantage of natural lighting and impeding sights, mix ventilation towards the south seemed to be important. A wide open plan increasing entertaining spaces was chosen over look after regular events. Search for materials and finishes, including using off-form concrete and high stucco render, have been in contrast with warm New Guinea rosewood cladding on the outside of. Showing itself like a clean, contemporary design, site visitors are informed about the mix of selected distinct materials from street front.

A slim wet edge pool is positioned around the eastern side, next to the strip from the neighbouring public parkland. This 25m pool forms a safe and secure edge and functions like a moat between private and public. Home windows around the Eastern side frame the outside trees, getting the outside inside.
Journey for the entry goes lower via a portico aside from the site, created by a number of crisp recycled timber posts. This can lead to a couple metre wide pivoted entrance door within the center from the plan. Opening up to and including low timber lined ceiling hallway, it soon reveals a heightened 2 storey area verticle with respect towards the river. Here, site visitors are instantly uncovered towards the exaggerated river view, sweeping in the southeast to southwest such as the Broadbeach skyline. Within the center from the residence stands some captivating staircase that has concrete stringer and cantilevered timber treads. Internal spaces follow the combination of materials, in which the raw structure continues to be left uncovered in places to contrast using the more refined applied finishes of marble surfaces, bluestone flooring and blackbutt timber.
